After driving an hour away from Machida we turned right from the national highway to Gotenba - one of the area where you can view and get close to the famous: Mount Fuji.
on the way, we passed by the mountain side which has this stunning scenery:
We made a short stop at one of the grocery to buy some food for our picnic lunch at lake Tanuki; starting from here we are all excited to get close to Mt. Fuji!
Mt Fuji is known to be elusive for almost the whole year, luckily during our springtime trip, Fuji-san was proudly showing itself the whole time. We spent our whole day in the presence of Mt. Fuji from Tanuki park in Shizuoka.
Lake Tanuki （田貫湖）, is located in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka Prefecture, and is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. There is a pretty man-made lake whose water reflects an inverted image of Mt. Fuji:

After lunch, we hiked around the lake while gazing at the beauty of Mt. Fuji,
Several people were fishing around the lake,
It was almost sunset when we left Lake Tanuki, and headed to our 2nd home at Shimizu-ku Shizuoka. Along the way, I can't help but notice the cleanliness and the blooming flowers around the prefecture of Shizuoka:
Arriving at the house of Mochan (our dear organizer), some of us prepared for the dinner, while some had casual chat with other local Japanese who joined with our group that night. Since it was a long weekend holiday for them, they also joined the Wishclub.
We had a delicious soup for dinner, and also some grocery bought meals.

After dinner, Mochan brought us to a shopping mall nearby which he named as "Crazy Shop". At first we notice the unique thing at this shop is they sell second hand items from computer games to garments. They still sells Nintendo - Family Computer at this shop.
While roaming around the store, we notice another unique shop, a discretely positioned store at a corner of the shop, and we found these :
Everybody in our group had a good laugh while scrutinizing the items sold in this shop, and we realize that indeed it was a Crazy Shop!
This wrapped the 3rd day of our Japan Golden Week trip. Watch out for our next 4th and 5th day tour around Tokaido - Shizuoka, and discover interesting places of Japan. Let this photo of Mochan greet you: See you in the next post!
